Tara's, Book Release Party......

Today is the release of Tara Frey''s new book Blogging for Bliss ! Artsy Mamas blog, is hosting a blog party today in celebrations of Tara's Book.....you can check out her site and read a meet-and-greet with the author Tara Frey here.....

I was able to buy my copy yesterday at the local book store. Of course I stayed up way to late having a lovely quite time reading this little book of Bliss. I found it full of wonderful blogs that so many of us are all ready enjoying, plus many more. Tara has done a wonderful job in writing this book! Her hopes are to enlighten new and old blog readers with the options for creating their very own little space in blogland! I think she has done a wonderful job!! A must read!!!! Well, I sent off my gifts to the lovely ladies who won the " ONE WORLD ONE HEART" giveaway! I had fun getting the books ready for their trip. I tied them up in a cute little red swiss dot ribbon, then made sure I wrote a sweet message with todays date inside the book cover, added a cute hand written note to go along and off they went to their new owners. Enjoy Ladies.......

Well, my name is Lisa Brown. I'm new to blogging and I'm having a great time with it, and I love meeting all you wonderful bloggers from all over the world! Who would of thought that you don't have to step out your front door to travel so far!

I live in Arizona, although I grew up in California. I moved to Arizona 2 years ago, for my husband's work and son's school. I have two children: my daughter is 24 and my son is 16. My daughter attends college in Long Beach, CA and my son attends a beautiful private school here in Phoneix. We are very content here in Arizona, although there are parts of California that are just home to me!

Well, my work started when my children were little. I have always been a stay at home mom and did different side jobs from time to time. But, I love vintage linens, and started sewing interior designs using linens that clients had from loved family members. It all started with one client who's mother had passed away and left her family linens, she wanted to update them and use them in her home....so out of a channel bedspread we made a beautiful shower curtain, turned some tablecloths into euro sized pillows for her guest room and table napkins where made into pillows for her sofa.... we combined all this with new updated fabrics and it all turned out so beautiful! Her words to me were...."now my mom is still with me" ..So, my business began!

Well, when I moved to Arizona I was faced with the fact that I needed to locate new customers. So, I started from my computer..I'm still working on this...but I changed my direction to using vintage linens and new fabric to create little girls clothes.....and this too has been so much fun! I have a website, Vintage Sweet Peas, an Etsy store Vintagesweetpeas.etsy.com , and now a blog...Oh, and I still sew interior designs when asked!
