Chicago

Wow, is that not beautiful!!!!!! We went to Chicago and had a wonderful time...... The Country Living Event was amazing!!! Six Hundred women attended this event in the beautiful Renaissance Hotel! I met so many talented women! Heather Bailey from Hellomynameisheather, Anna Griffin and the CEO of Etsy to the creator of Country Living Magazine........

Well, I was also blessed to have had my husband travel along with me. We did a little bit of sight seeing and it was just nice to get away together!

Notice, there is still ice on top of the water!

And of course, did you really think I could go somewhere and not find some type of animal!!! They wanted me to go away....can you tell! They left me all alone for my photo...

Well, my name is Lisa Brown. I'm new to blogging and I'm having a great time with it, and I love meeting all you wonderful bloggers from all over the world! Who would of thought that you don't have to step out your front door to travel so far!

I live in Arizona, although I grew up in California. I moved to Arizona 2 years ago, for my husband's work and son's school. I have two children: my daughter is 24 and my son is 16. My daughter attends college in Long Beach, CA and my son attends a beautiful private school here in Phoneix. We are very content here in Arizona, although there are parts of California that are just home to me!

Well, my work started when my children were little. I have always been a stay at home mom and did different side jobs from time to time. But, I love vintage linens, and started sewing interior designs using linens that clients had from loved family members. It all started with one client who's mother had passed away and left her family linens, she wanted to update them and use them in her home....so out of a channel bedspread we made a beautiful shower curtain, turned some tablecloths into euro sized pillows for her guest room and table napkins where made into pillows for her sofa.... we combined all this with new updated fabrics and it all turned out so beautiful! Her words to me were...."now my mom is still with me" ..So, my business began!

Well, when I moved to Arizona I was faced with the fact that I needed to locate new customers. So, I started from my computer..I'm still working on this...but I changed my direction to using vintage linens and new fabric to create little girls clothes.....and this too has been so much fun! I have a website, Vintage Sweet Peas, an Etsy store Vintagesweetpeas.etsy.com , and now a blog...Oh, and I still sew interior designs when asked!

Hatti and I are so excited! We have been invited to pitch our Business product to Country Living Magazine for the 2009 designing women!!!!! So off to Chicago ILL. we will go, on March 14th....keep your fingers and toes crossed....Prayers would be great, toooooo!!!!!!!

Someone is getting married

Getting ready for my daughters bridal shower! Of course we are having so much fun!

Pretty colors of red, brown, pink and greens....we collected these coffee cups from Starbucks in 2007/Feburary/Valentines day.... they have little charms hanging by ribbon on the handles and sweet sayings of love..we are filling them with cream candle wax and they are turning out so pretty.
